Childhood and Education

Rickman grew up in a working-class family of Irish-Welsh descent. He was raised on a council estate in Acton with his older brother David, younger brother Michael, and younger sister Sheila. Tragically, Rickman's father passed away when he was only 8 years old.

He later pursued graphic design at Chelsea College of Art and Design, where he met his future longtime partner, Rima Horton.
