Inaki Ereno new Bupa Sanitas based company CEO - Iñaki Ereño is the new CEO of the multinational insurance and Health Services Bupa, a subsidiary of Sanitas, and succeeds Evelyn Bourke, according to the company itself.
It is the first time that a Spaniard has reached the top of the British company and Ereño has assured that the opportunity is "a great honor and an exciting challenge for me, more in a context like the current one in which health has become, if possible, more important for the population".
It is not the first experience as CEO of Ereño, who was already CEO of Sanitas in 2008. In 2012 he also managed the market unit formed by Spain and Latin America (SLA), according to Europa Press.

Bupa President Roger Davis has pointed out that Ereño was the natural choice to fill Bourke's position, who retires after 8 years in the group.
"He has long been with the Bupa team, with an exemplary track record of leadership, innovation and growth across multiple business lines and geographies. The board and I are excited about what he will bring to the next chapter in the development of Bupa," Davis said of Ereño.
According to the group's annual report for the year 2019, the company earned more than 13.4 billion euros in revenue and offer health insurance more than 17.5 million people worldwide.
Changes to the Bupa Group structure, subject to regulatory approval, will take effect on January 1, 2021. They will include the appointment of a new CEO for Sanitas and the Europe and Latin America division, to be announced in the coming days.

Alan, the first digital health insurer in Europe, lands in Spain to start its international expansion
The digital health insurer Alan lands in Spain after starting its international expansion, which will also take you to Belgium this same year.
The company was born in Paris (France) in 2016 as the first digital health insurer in Europe and has since served more than 80,000 policyholders and 5,000 companies.
Last year, it invoiced more than 50 million euros and since 2019 it is included in the Next40 ranking, prepared by the French government and which includes 40 French startups chosen for their status as unicorns or based on large economic projections.
In Spain, the project will be carried out by Manel Pujol, former general manager in Spain of Uber Eats, and among the team are some former Google executives and insurance professionals.
Alan, focused on reinventing digital health insurance for companies, will focus on this first phase of expansion in Spain in the tech sector offering mainly startups a simple, transparent and 100% digital insurance, according to the company.
“With the help of several Spanish startups we have developed a product focused on user experience, transparency and access to a very wide medical picture at national level, " says Manel Pujol in the statement.
The international landing has been made possible thanks to the 50 million euros raised by the company in February in a round of financing led by Temasek.
” We believe that there is a great opportunity in Spain to reinvent health insurance for companies, " concludes Pujol.
