Judge blocks Trump administration TikTok download ban - A judge blocks the ban on downloading TikTok in the United States imposed by the Trump administration.
A federal judge ordered Sunday that the ban on downloading TikTok in the United States that was supposed to come into force at midnight is invalidated, a decision whose details remain sealed and on which Monday will be decided if they are made public.
The decision follows a complaint by TikTok against the U.S. Department of Justice order, which ordered the ban. "We are delighted that the court accepted our legal arguments and issued this order against the ban on the TikTok download," the company said in a statement.
"At the same time, we will maintain dialogue with the government to turn our proposal, which the president gave preliminary approval last weekend, into an agreement," the company added.
On Wednesday, TikTok filed a petition to stop the Justice Department's order that would ban downloads of the app in the United States from the early hours of last Sunday to Monday.
In their complaint, the company's lawyers argued that Trump's order is unconstitutional, violates the First Amendment (on freedom of speech) and the right to due process. During Sunday's hearing, they argued that the ban is "arbitrary and capricious" and that it should be halted until a decision is made on the lawsuit filed by the app's creator against the Trump administration, according to the Verge.
The agreement for the sale of TikTok's operations in the United States, involving Oracle as a technology partner and Walmart, has been surrounded by confusion with different statements about who would have control of the application. Both China and the United States have assured that they could block the agreement.

Although Trump originally said the deal had its "blessing," last Monday he assured Fox News that he would not support it if Oracle and Walmart did not have "full control" over the application.
The ban would not prevent users from using the app, but would make it impossible for new downloads to be made available in popular app stores, such as the Apple App Store and Google Play. Also, TikTok could not release new updates. Trump's executive order plans to completely ban the application on November 12, the U.S. Department of Commerce announced.
A group of content creators at TikTok also filed a lawsuit against the application ban, but a Pennsylvania state judge denied their request to block the ban, arguing that it would not cause "irremediable" harm as users could continue publishing, The Verge reported.
The court's decision in favor of TikTok's petition wants Trump's plans to ban enforcement in the United States. The US president said in July that he could ban it for security reasons, considering it a Chinese espionage application, something that TikTok repeatedly denied asserting that he did not share US data with the Chinese government. In August, the US president signed two executive orders against TikTok and WeChat, and the Commerce Department announced a ban on downloads on September 18
TikTok has received criticism from both political forces in the United States. Democratic Senator Chuck Summer was in favor in August of a U.S. company buying it, and Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden asked his team to remove it from their mobile phones. In December 2019, the U.S. military banned its downloading on government-owned phones.
This judge's decision does not affect the ban on WeChat, the messaging application used mostly in China and which also has millions of users in the United States. A federal judge in California ordered a preliminary halt to the WeChat download ban, which the U.S. Department of Commerce said it would appeal.

This set of PLC adapters that allows you to carry the WiFi signal through the power grid is sold at a 33% discount
Do you live in a large house or with several floors where your WiFi network is in certain corners that does not arrive well? Do you want to enjoy Internet throughout the house without any problems?
An alternative is the PLC (Power Line Communications) Technology, with which you can carry the WiFi through the electric current. Thus, if you have the router in a remote room, you can enjoy a good signal when transporting it through the electrical wiring.
Although in appearance these devices resemble WiFi repeaters do not confuse them. The latter capture the wireless signal and amplify it, bridging the place where the router is located and the 'Black' zone.
At the moment you have a pack of 3 PLC plugs at your disposal for very little. The kit previously cost 240 euros, but is discounted in Amazon by 33%. So, you can buy it for only 160 euros.
Each of the 3 adapters that make up the pack comes with 2 Fast Ethernet LAN connections.

So far the kit has received more than 300 reviews on Amazon. 54% of users rate the product with 5 stars on the ecommerce platform.
“I use it to improve wifi coverage in the parts of the house where previously almost did not reach wifi. With the speed test from mobile, I see that I now have access throughout the house to contracted fiber speed. With the wifi mesh, the adapter is integrated into the existing wifi network, so you only see a single wifi network, and you automatically choose the best access point to connect to. You do not have to switch networks manually as with other WiFi PLC adapters. The installation is simple and well documented, " says R.
"Everything was perfect, it arrived very quickly. One day I had it at home, went to connect it and in 5 minutes it was already working. I thought it wouldn't work, since I don't have almost anywhere in the House coverage even to talk on the phone. It is a PLC pack and has 1 plug each. The PLC that connects to the router has a lan connection and the one that would go in the room where you do not have coverage has two LAN connections (if you want to connect several devices such as the Smart tv and the console. With this pack of PLC you take 2 by 1, goes by cable and wifi, all perfect. Plus it goes for the electrical wiring. That's what I was looking for,” says Africa Galicia.
