The Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC great price segment buy: 120 Hz display and autonomy of almost 3 days for 229 euros, but it has software to polish: I have been with the Poco X3 NFC almost a month, and I have clear that it is of those smartphones with the 3 Bs (well, nice and cheap) that so much triumph in users. I have said it many times in countless analyzes: it is not necessary to spend 1,000 euros to have a powerful mobile that does not give you problems in day to day.
In this regard, it is necessary to tell where this company comes from, which is likely to sound to you but you do not just fit. POCO was born a couple of years ago by The Hand of Xiaomi, as a response to those smartphones of astronomical prices that were only within reach of a few. As Jai Mani, product manager of the firm, told Business Insider Spain at the time, the idea began to take shape when they realized that the flagships had specifications that only served to increase their cost and, consequently, the final price of sale to the public.
After many market analyzes, they decided to take out a brand with the 'know-how' (know-how, in English) of Xiaomi, but focusing mainly on four points: the display, performance, battery and camera.
Thus, several mobiles followed one another within this approach without losing its goal. The last of them is the Poco X3 NFC, an unpretentious smartphone that will give you what you need for less than 229 euros. If you want to know what their strengths (and weaknesses) are read on.
The Poco X3 NFC has a plastic finish that does not slip and is pleasant to the touch. The dimensions are more than correct and allows you to reach all sides of the screen with one hand.

In addition, it has the signature logo on its reflective back, so you will have no doubt that it is a device of the brand.
As an extra, it comes with a transparent case in the house in case you are one of those who needs additional protection on the mobile.
The camera module protrudes slightly from the rear, but does not dance when you leave it on a table. Of course, this is solved by putting a cover on it.
As for the location and shape, it is rectangular in type and is located right in the center of the top.
This situation has made me a little uncomfortable to unlock and, in general, I have chosen on almost all occasions to access the terminal by Face Unlock.
Of course, I have to admit that it does not end up working properly 100% in any of the cases. In low light situations, face recognition fails, while the problem with the fingerprint sensor lies not in its ability —which works well-but in the fact that it is easy to press it by accident and feel a slight error vibration in the hands.
The Poco X3 NFC features a 6.67-inch IPS LCD display with FullHD + resolution (2,400 x 1,080 pixels). Do you notice the drop in quality with respect to other devices? In everyday life, no, but when you put it next to a terminal with an AMOLED panel, the thing changes.
What I especially liked is the incorporation of a refresh rate of 120 Hz. This makes the experience of fluidity increase, since instead of 60 images per second, the panel is capable of displaying 120 and makes navigation much faster and smoother. In addition, this is adaptable, that is, the refresh rate is adjusted based on what is being used at the time. In this way, autonomy is not affected.
The Poco X3 NFC mounts the Qualcomm Snapdragon 732g to which it is accompanied by 6 GB of storage. Although I have to say that, in general it has not given me problems, it has caused me a few times to close applications when I was running some task or occasional crashes in social networks.
Will it be enough for an average user? Yes, but if you're looking to put your approval on demanding tasks, you might be a little disappointed.
The POCO X3 comes with MIUI 12 over Android 10. On this you will find running POCO Launcher 2.0, which is the big difference between a Xiaomi mobile and one of this subfirma. On the bright side is customization, as it is a layer full of details that you can put, remove, move or otherwise manage. As a highlight is a mode called Game Turbo that will allow you to have an interface with a gaming aspect and that will allow you to optimize the behavior of the mobile during the game.
However, it is not all good news. As I mentioned in the previous section, there are apps-like Instagram and Chrome-that have been frozen at certain times, so I have had to restart the smartphone on occasion. In addition, the device comes with more bloatware (apps preinstalled) from the account. Thus, In addition to Xiaomi's own apps, you will find Games, Netflix, Facebook, eBay and more.
This is joined by advertising in many parts of the interface (something that is not new to Xiaomi mobiles and that can be uninstalled if the user wishes).
The user can deduce that the Poco X3 NFC includes, as its name suggests, NFC. But what other kind of connections do you have? Support WiFi 2x2 MIMO for dual frequency band (2.4 GHz and 5GHz), bluetooth 5.1, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS and Galileo.
I take my hat off in this section. I have not tested any mobile in 2020 that has endured so much in terms of autonomy. The Poco X3 NFC comes with 5.160 mAh battery, which has granted me almost 3 days of autonomy with moderate use. Even, I have reached the two days giving it intensive use.
If we add that in half an hour we can have more than 60% of the charge with the charger that is included in the box, the truth is that we are one of the first options to evaluate if you prioritize this feature over others. In fact, a full charge lasts no more than an hour and a half.
The main camera consists of the following configuration:
- 64 megapixel main with f / 1.9, which will capture the maximum possible light.
- Wide angle of 13 megapixels f / 2.2 119º, for landscapes or groufies.
- 2 megapixel f / 2.4 Macro, for details.
- Depth of 2 megapixels f / 2.4, for bokeh effect.
In general the results have been enough for its price, since a mobile that does not exceed 230 euros can be demanded just. In other words: it is very on par with others of its same category.
In several tests the camera has had problems correctly performing the edges of the silhouette. You can appreciate it on top of the hair and leaves of trees. As a positive point: it allows you to adjust the degree of blur of the image.
The Poco X3 NFC is currently for 229 euros, a figure more than fair for everything it offers. In fact, it will be a tough rival to beat in its category.
This device is not perfect: it needs improvements in performance, software and facial recognition. However, it has points that are unsurpassed in its segment: autonomy of almost 3 days, 120 Hz display and good connectivity.
Therefore, recommending this mobile to anyone looking for a device for that cost is extremely simple. Word of heavy user.

Neurological disorders brought on by COVID - 19 mostly affect older men, research finds
"The current SARS-CoV-2 pandemic is associated with numerous neurological symptoms and complications," warned a manual for professionals prepared by the Spanish Society of Neurology in April.
The report recalls that both the SARS (2002) and MERS (2012) epidemics were associated with some disorders of the central and peripheral nervous system, more frequent in the first than in the second.
Now, half a year after the first cases of coronavirus were reported in China, scientific studies begin to emerge that detail that coronavirus patients can suffer from episodes of confusion to delusions.
A study published in Seizure: European Journal of Epilepsy has compiled the results of major research in this area that analyzed the impact of coronavirus on the brain by electroencephalography (EEG).
The report states that neurological complications have been reported in 34.6% of patients with severe COVID-19 that can cause encephalitis, stroke, confusion, delusions, nausea or difficulty concentrating.
In Spain, observational research published in the journal Neurology yields even higher figures and ensures that more than half of patients admitted by coronavirus have developed neurological disorders.
Another important fact that the recently published collection shows is that about two thirds of these patients (the study had 620 patients in total) are men with a mean age of 61 years, while the incidence in children is minimal.
Researchers believe that in the case of COVID-19 this general malfunction can occur as a result of extensive inflammation of the brain, or as a consequence of a drop in blood supply, due to weakening of the lungs and heart.
Some studies still not reviewed begin to explore if the infection is caused by the immune system itself, since then a possible way of treatment would be opened to avoid neurological disorders by mitigating the overreaction of Defense.
A final pattern identified by the collection is that most of the anomalies detected by the EEG appear to affect the frontal lobe, responsible for logical reasoning and decision-making.
The authors of the study assure that disorders in this part of the brain seem to be common in COVID-19 infection, leading them to propose them as "a possible biomarker".
