Gaspard Ulliel was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, to Christine, a stylist and runway show producer, and Serge Ulliel, a fashion designer.
He began his acting career at a young age, making his professional debut in the TV film "Une femme en blanc" (1997) when he was just 12 years old.

Gaspard Ulliel appeared in numerous French TV shows and movies while still a teenager and studied film at a university in Paris, hoping to be a director.
However, he had to drop out when his acting career took off[6]. He made his feature film debut in "Brotherhood of the Wolf" (2001) and had his breakthrough in "Strayed" (2003).
