She was born Jelena Ristic on June 17, 1986, in Belgrade, Serbia.
Jelena and Novak have known each other since they were teenagers, attending the same high school in Belgrade. They began dating in 2005 and got engaged in September 2013.
They got married in a small ceremony in Montenegro in July 2014, and they have two children together, Stefan and Tara.
