Hunt grew up in Surrey and attended Charterhouse school in Godalming. He graduated from Oxford University with a first-class honours degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics.

Biography

Before entering politics, Hunt worked for a management consultancy firm and taught English in Japan for two years.

He then set up his own educational publishing business, Hotcourses, which he no longer owns.

Hunt also set up a charity to help AIDS orphans in Africa, in which he continues to play an active role.

Hunt was first elected as the Member of Parliament for South West Surrey in May 2005.

He has held various roles in the Conservative government, including Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport, Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, and Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs.
