Renate Blauel was born in Berlin and worked as a flight attendant for Lufthansa Airways before pursuing a career in sound engineering.
Her father, Joachim Blauel, was a successful publisher, and she grew up in a wealthy family.
Marriage to Elton John
Elton John and Renate Blauel met in London in 1983 while he was recording his album "Too Low for Zero" at AIR Studios.
They married the following year in a lavish ceremony in Australia.
