He was the son of Nero Claudius Drusus and Antonia the Younger, and was born into an influential branch of the patrician gens Claudia.

His father was a Roman general and politician who was known for his campaigns in Germania.

He was added to his full name in 9 BC when it was posthumously awarded to his father in honor of his victories in Germania.

Military Campaigns

The general was a key figure in the Julio-Claudian dynasty of the early Roman Empire. He fought against the Pannonians and the Germans, and is most famously known for his campaigns in Germania.

He was also involved in the Roman invasion of Britain, and was responsible for the recovery of the legionary standards lost by Quintilius Varus in the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest.

Legacy
