Trajan was born on September 15, 53 CE, in Italica, Baetica (now in Spain).
His family was probably well-to-do and prominent in Baetica, and his father was the first to have a career in the imperial service, and Trajan was named emperor by the Roman Senate after the death of Emperor Nerva in 98 CE.
Military Campaigns
Trajan is known for his military campaigns, particularly against the Dacians and in the east.
He won three major conflicts against the Dacians and in the east, resulting in the Roman Empire reaching its greatest size up to that date.
