Nicholas De Santo: The Conservative Voice in Modern British Comedy

Nicholas De Santo was born in Italy before relocating to London to pursue a career in journalism with the BBC World Service. His initial belief in promoting Western values through mainstream media eventually led to disillusionment with what he perceived as a globalist agenda. This pivotal moment sparked his transition from television journalism to stand-up comedy, where he found a platform to express his conservative and Christian worldview without compromise.

Beginning his comedy career in 2017, Nicholas De Santo quickly distinguished himself through his unique blend of political satire and cultural commentary. His background as a legacy TV journalist provided him with insights into media narratives, which he now challenges through humor and sharp observation. This perspective has resonated with audiences seeking alternatives to mainstream comedic conventions, establishing him as a notable figure in the UK comedy circuit.

In 2019, he reached the finals of New Act of the Year, one of the most prestigious competitions for emerging comedians in the United Kingdom. Although he did not win, this achievement marked a significant milestone in his career and brought him wider recognition. The Spectator subsequently recommended him in 2020 as one of the best unwoke comics to watch, further cementing his reputation as a bold and unconventional voice in contemporary comedy.

Why Nicholas De Santo Stands Out in Today's Comedy Landscape

What sets Nicholas De Santo apart from many of his contemporaries is his willingness to tackle controversial subjects with a conservative lens. His pro-life stand-up routine, which went viral on YouTube in 2023 with over one million views, may be the only entirely pro-life comedy set in existence. This distinctive approach has attracted a dedicated following while also generating debate about the boundaries of acceptable humor in modern society.

Throughout his career, Nicholas De Santo has performed across the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States, bringing his counter-culture comedy to diverse audiences. His YouTube channel, Anglo Italian Comedy, has grown to over 120,000 subscribers, demonstrating the appetite for his particular brand of political satire. He regularly appears as a panelist on GB News TV in London, where he discusses current affairs with a comedic touch that challenges prevailing narratives.

Nicholas De Santo's comedy draws upon his multicultural background, combining Italian heritage with British sensibilities to create a unique comedic voice. His routines often incorporate powerful expressions in both Italian and English, reflecting his dual cultural identity. This linguistic and cultural fluency allows him to connect with audiences across different demographics while maintaining an authentic perspective that resonates with those who share his values.
