Jamal Edwards was born on August 24, 1990, in Luton, England, where he spent his early years before relocating to Acton, West London. There, he lived with his mother Brenda Edwards, stepfather Patrick, and younger sister Tanisha. His family heritage traces back to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. As a child, he was introduced to stage school by his mother, who placed fourth in the second series of The X Factor in 2005.

Charity work

A trailblazer in British music, Edwards generously opened doors for new talent. He played a key role in launching the careers of major artists like Ed Sheeran, Jessie J, and Jess Glynne. Recognized for his contributions, he was awarded an MBE in 2014. Edwards embodied the DIY spirit of the culture, providing a platform on YouTube for young artists to express themselves and grow. He was a mentor to many, helping emerging artists reach their potential.

British Music

Edwards was a pioneer of British music whose generosity paved the way for generations.

He helped launch the careers of mammoth pop stars such as Ed Sheeran, Jessie J, and Jess Glynne, and he had been given an MBE for services to music in 2014.
