Knud Brix has built a varied career across newspapers, radio, television, and literature. Born in Horsens in 1980, he studied journalism at the Danish School of Media and Journalism before developing a reputation for thoughtful reporting and confident editorial leadership.

His literary career began with the poetry collection Natfolden in 2017. He later published the autofictional novel Febertræet in 2022, inspired by experiences and observations connected with Liberia and Sierra Leone.

He has also produced radio documentary work about Liberia, including a program focused on the former warlord known as General Butt Naked. These projects show his interest in difficult subjects, moral complexity, and the lasting effects of conflict.

In August 2026, he released Paranoia, a novel inspired by real events and centered on stalking, obsession, love, and radically different perceptions of reality. The book adds another dimension to his work as a writer willing to examine uncomfortable human experiences.

A New Chapter as an Africa Correspondent

After almost five years as editor-in-chief of Ekstra Bladet, he is preparing to become DR’s Africa correspondent. The position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya, and is scheduled to begin in January 2027.
